The best filtered water on tap
We live in a rural area and are on a shared well. The biggest problem we have with our water from the well is a strong sulfur smell. We had a competitor's reverse osmosis system for 3 years and we blew out the main element 4 times because the sulfer was destroying it. After a lot of research, I chose this system because of the included iron filter (which removes sulfer from the water before passing it on to the next filter). Not only does the water actually taste better with this system, the filters actually last much longer, which saves money. Great Water
We have very hard well water & with all the talk of contaminants in NJ, we installed this system 7 years ago when we redid our kitchen. We weren't sure about having the minerals in the water, but it's been excellent. It's also connected to our refrigerator for ice cubes. There's only 2 of us, so sometimes we have been a little lax in changing the filters (about every 15-18 months). It's still going strong!

Excellent filtration system and great service
I was very hesitant to get this, to be honest, and after having trouble getting the special VOC (Volitile Organic Compound) filter to be recognized by the system, I called Zuvo. They were very helpful and discovered that the system I received was faulty. They quickly sent me a replacement system that came with a pre-paid return label. I fitted the replacement system in place, and it has been going great guns ever since.

I've tried several filtration systems over the years and needed a replacement after my Whirlpool system started leaking, so I did some research. There ARE filtration systems that filter out more than the Zuvo; however, the other systems even filter out the helpful things and to what avail? I've had my water tested and other it's actually not bad; however, there are some VOC's and we have had outbreaks of various pathogens since it was switched to ground water. Everyone should have one!
The Bad:
The Faucet Adaptor 15/16 - 27 Male Thread sent with the unit was plastic or teflon, in which I personally do not see how this would work with anyone's kitchen sink aerator because the threads are too soft and WILL STRIP.

Solution: I would go out to Lowes/Ace Hardware/Home depot and buy the brass version. If you can, buy one with at least 5 threads showing each end. I did get the one that looks like it has 2-3 threads, but it was tricky to get it installed soundly with no leaks. I screwed the brass part into my diverter part first, then spun it on the sink to get it to seal properly.

The Good:
* The Filter water flow is awsome.
* The spout appeared to be cheaply made, but don't worry, it swivels fine and does not leak at all.
* The water quality for my first week is great.
* The Price per gallon will be less than 1 cent if it lasts even 1 year with me.

Quality Filter
The filter is good and appears to be high quality. I gave it four stars because my facet required the use of the adapter I received with the filter. The adapter was cheap and did not fit correctly. I did get another one from the local hardware store. I cannot believe that the company would risk its reputation to save a few pennies on an inferior adapter.
A Great Product
I visited relatives in Waco, Tx during early 2005. Their city water had a terrible taste and odor. Shortly thereafter I saw a product demonstration on TV for this Paragon water filter and immediately thought of my relatives in Waco. I ordered the filter for them as a gift. Saying that they were pleased would be a wild understatement. Several of their friends were also impressed with the filter and ordered one for themselves. Time passed and I relocated to the Dallas area. The Dallas city water was also less than desireable and I ordered a filter for myself. That was over six years ago. My filter has worked flawlessly during this period. It is nearing the point of needing to be replaced and I was very pleased to see that Model 3050 is still available.
This is definitely a five star product in anyone's book.

Great water filter!
We bought this water filter after doing hours of research. We wanted a comprehensive water filter that removed fluoride and was affordable. After much consideration of the options we decided to go with this one. We have been using it for a few weeks now and so far so good. We are pretty pleased with this purchase. The water tastes good and we have tested it at about 50-55 PPM which is good for this type of filter I read it's fine under 100. It says to have a licensed plumber install it for the warranty to be in effect. However, being that my husband is very capable and a great handyman he said he would be able to do it after he read through the instructions to see what was involved. He did not have to do any drilling, he just removed the sink sprayer.It took hime approx. 1-2 hrs to install ( he split it up into two nights.) We did buy a pressure regulator for the line as it is recommended. It arrived quickly through the Amazon seller:Sparkling clean water filters.

DOESN'T WORK!
After we had this filter installed, the water had a stronger chlorine taste than our tap water without any filter - and way more chlorine taste than with our old, less expensive filter. We contacted the seller, who responded promptly. He contacted the manufacturer, who had to be nudged a few times, but after a few days responded with a phone call. The manufacturer sent us a new filter for the chlorine.

After we installed the new filter, the water didn't taste of chlorine at first drink. But if it remains in a glass bottle in the refrigerator for more than a few hours, the chlorine taste is still there. I've solved it right now by purchasing bottled water for the water we keep in our refrigerator. If we fill a glass from the filter and drink it immediately, there is no taste. But we like our water cold, and the water from this filter tastes quite strongly of chlorine after a few hours. (Our old, less expensive water filter never developed a chlorine taste. I wish we...
good filter
after looking at several on here , I went with this due to floride filter , well made and good sturdy dispenser , not plastic like several , a plumber could have installed this in a hour , but because I didnt have the correct coupling under the sink it took a trip to the hardware store and several rebuilds to get the leaks to stop at my connection ,,,, not hard at all , just under every sink is different to connect to ..... had one leaking filter , called the seller 4 times and never got a call back! called the manufacturer and got it corrected instantly, they fould my name and order and were very helpful and sent me out bunch of o-rings I got the next day , turns out the problem leak fixed itsself , but now i have some parts if I need them ..........

It's what I hoped for
I consider this a great product.

The taste of our drinking water unfiltered makes it very clearly "city water", with myriad chemical flavors. The taste after going through the filter is absolutely pure and flavorless. It fills a five gallon jug in about 28 minutes in a home with a normal PSI.

As far as upkeep: Cleaning the sediment filter is a two minute process which you shouldn't have to do more than a few times a year. Other than that I've not done anything. Two years after purchasing it I'm doing my first replacement, replacing the original R/O membranes.

If you're looking for a filter I can't speak to the quality of the other ones but I'm very happy with this and would it again if required to remake the decision.

Have ro200 and tall boy hooked together. They produce pure water and were very easy hook up. Would recommend any of the hydroLogic products.

love my Zuvo!
We have well water that routinely tested positive for coliform bacteria. A year after installing our Zuvo under counter filter, we're still getting bacteria free test results. The faucet is still working fine as well.

Customer service was amazing! Our first Zuvo had an unknown error code (combination of light color and beeps). After speaking on the phone, they overnighted a replacement unit and sent pre-paid packaging for us to return the other unit. We haven't had a problem since.

Good tasting water but must have some plumbing knowledge
We are lucky because when we ordered the house we had a loop made for our soft water filter. That's why I was able to easily hook this up without a problem, I also have decent amount of plumbing knowledge. If you do not have a water loop you will somehow have to find out where your water lines are in your house and open up the wall and make a loop, if that is to much for you either get a plumber to do it or just go for a under the sink filter if you only want it for drinking purposes.

I am very pleased with this filter since my hard water conditioner doesn't take out any of the bad stuff. You can feel it when you are taking a shower, our clothes come out without a smell after washing them, and our dishes do not spot anymore. I still have our RO filter hooked up to our sink but that's mainly for taste and to catch what this filter might not catch.

I do not recommend this if you are not able to hook this up and don't want to pay a plumber to attach it. If you can...

Works well
We had to have our plumber install this filter for us. He charged us a little over a hundred dollars, but he usually gives us decent pricing/discount, so take that into consideration when purchasing this filter. This is the ONLY plumber who has ever worked in this house since it was built about 40 years ago, so we have come to know him well and he knows our house like the back of his hand.

Our water was horrible. We have well water which is very hard. Even with a softener, it still shows up at the "hardest" level on test strips. It leaves a nasty white residue on everything. One of our showers has glass doors and let's just say that it looks like frosted glass - the water is that bad. Sure I clean it and scrub it, but the first time you get a shower, the white marks are back so it is basically pointless to try and keep up with it.

We do have a reverse osmosis system under the sink, with a special facet for drinking water, but I don't even trust that. We just use...
Needed a plumber
I am not very handy with plumbing issues so I had to hire a plumber to hook this up because there is pipe cutting involved. Once installed I could tell a difference in the softness and taste of my water. It was definitely a good move since I live in the country and our water always had a little twang to it. Now we can drink the filtered water more often rather than buying the bottled water. I do love that it has a 12 month filter, hopefully it does last that long. It has only been a few months but everything is working good so far. I will update the review if I have any issues.

Truly worked
I'm VERY chlorine sensitive & this filter worked well for 7 months before I had to replace it. I usually took a 10-15 min. shower daily with it. I could no longer smell chlorine in the water and felt much better (no more nausea or extreme feeling of tirednes). Knew I had to replace it when I could smell chlorine faintly again and symptoms began to reapear.Will buy a filter with replaceable cartridges next time to save money.Well worth buying this type of filter anyway,even if you don't have chlorine sensitivity because it makes your skin and hair noticeably softer and not so dry.

shower filter reveiw
I have no other shower filter to compare this one to. I must say I was expecting my skin to be much softer, less dry, etc. I haven't noticed a huge difference. What I HAVE noticed is that my lungs (that would definitely notice the chlorine before) are not bothered in the least whilst I take my showers now.
I love this thing!
I love it! Out here in the desert, the well water has a distinct sulpher smell which is really annoying. I have only used it for about 2 weeks, but it completely emiminated the smell. Later on? Who knows, but I tried a Culligan brand kitchen sink filter which lasted about one week before the smell came back. I would buy this again in a heart beat.

Filters little
Right after I installed it, the filter failed to filter. The water had a strong unfiltered chemical taste. I wondered if this was a return or used filter put back on the shelf and sold as a new filter. It is also a Sears ripoff as the price is too high. It is made by PUR so buy it elsewhere.

I have owned a Sears Coldspot Model 106.56572400 fridge for the last seven years.

The filter which came with it was a Pur Ultimate II. Part number 9030.
This filter goes by various part numbers. e.g. Whirlpool, etc.

This is the BEST water filter which I have ever tried. You DO GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR.
Yes, I have to admit, that I have shopped the stores/internet; and bought the cheaper filters
which are compatible with my fridge. I have (and more importantly- the wife) noticed the difference.

Now, I have a three year-old girl and a 1.5 year old boy. I don't go cheap anymore.
Something about this filter JUST SIMPLY is better.

We don't have crappy water, or iron/sulfur, or anything. I would call our municipal water 'just average'.
We do not soften our water.

The filter itself is of sturdy construction, has good end caps, and the screw ridges at the top (to accept the
grill beauty cap) have never failed...

I am guessing the previous comments were because you must flush the first 3 gallons before drinking. The first 3 gallons do have a chemical to clean the line.

Great product. Original manufacturer. Fits my water filter perfectly. I've purchased other ones that were lighter weight and did not work as well. This product is a heavier filter, worked as soon as I installed. I turned on the cold water and it was flowing well. With the other filter I got a light flow of water. Definitely a GO!

The Sterasyl grade ceramic is designed to remove suspended solids and pathogenic bacteria (99.99%). The filter elements are produced using the latest ceramic techniques to provide a hollow porous ceramic, which is fired at a temperature in excess of 1,000º C. They are designed to operate with water flow going from the outside to the inside of the element. The ceramic shell exhibits a strictly controlled pore structure, so as to provide efficient sub-micron filtration, a proven defense against hard-shelled parasites such as Cryptosporidium as well as pathogenic bacteria. Make your own safe water filter
Get a couple of free 5 gal food safe buckets from Walmart Bakery, drill a 1/2" hole and add one of these ceramic filters (search "Berkey" on Youtube for video "how to")and have your own inexpensive safe water filter. One 7" filter is cleanable (occasionally)with a scotchbrite pad and will make a lot of safe drinking water per day for years. I'm using one that is 13 years old. Add more filters for more water per day. For convenience, install a plastic spigot in the bottom bucket. These have been used all over the world for decades. You can get as fancy as you want, but this is Basic Survival 101. You should do this for your family before the next disaster. This can keep you alive! Anyone can cobble one of these together in a few minutes....do it now....before the crunch, when safe drinking water will be your FIRST priority.

Better than Black Berkey
These ceramic filters are much more tougher than the Black Berkey filters. The plastic base of the Black Berkey would always break away from the the filter media after just a few months. This problem would then cause unfiltered water to leak into the lower chamber making my system useless.
After about 4 broken filters I had enough and tried the ceramics. They are much better and clean the water just as well. You will have to change your fluoride filter to the PF4 to work with the ceramic type but they cost less than the PF2 types. Black Berkey needs to resolve the base issue with their filters. I will stay with the ceramics for now. I hope Black Berkey reads my review since I spent 200 bucks on worthless and poorly made filters that just fell apart.
Thumbs Up All The Way!
These filter are fantastic. The base, threads and nut for fastening them to the Berkey are much tougher than what was on my Black Berkey filters. I could get them on there real tight where the Black Berkey filters nut would pop if you tried to tighten it. These are also easier to prime and clean. We are very happy with this purchase.

Best filter we have ever used
We have this unit on our sailboat and it does a great job. Most of the time we make our own water from sea water, so having an additional filter is not necessary. However, there are times when we take on water in remote locations.

When our water maker was broken on a recent trip in the Bahama's, we were forced to take on their water, which smelt and tasted terrible, so much so that we didn't event want to use it to rinse off. However, the Seagull filter was perfect. The water tasted great and no issues with sickness.

We like the unit so much we have purchased a second one to be installed outside and will tie it into the ice maker.

Does not fit Aquapure model AP801 whole house filter
The plumber tried for over one hour to fit the filter into the housing assembly but it was long by about half an inch and even with the wrench would not fit snugly causing water to leak all over the basement.

Great beginning....backflow ending
I purchased this a month ago and after verifying that my faucet had the stop on top to hold it in place, I mounted it and began using it for my daughters baths. For the first few baths it worked flawlessly and there was an obvious change in the smell, feel and appearance of the bath water. My wife and I both were very pleased. After approximately 17 baths the filter seems to be clogging just enough to allow the water to backflow out of the top. This backflow or "channeling" mixes a little unfiltered water with the filtered. I flipped the filter per the manufacturers guidelines on the box and found the same problem. The company doesn't have any information provided for service/warranty aside from the "contact seller" link through amazon. I am awaiting their response and will post the findings later. The plastic housing and filter did not seem worth paying more than $20 by make and quality alone but due to virtually little competition and other reviews I thought that this would be worth...

Works okay, but could be designed better
I purchased this filter for removing chlorine from my daughters bathwater. It worked great for the short time I used it and seemed to remove the chlorine very well. The water was softer and there was no chlorine smell.

I wished I could've continued to use this product, and I would've if it weren't for the poorly designed faucet attachment. The filter worked fine in the beginning and I didn't have any issues with it falling off my faucet, however, over time, the plastic strap that attached to the filter kept coming unattached causing the filter to fall off into the water. I kept trying to put it back on, and there was no other way to rig it.

Money down the drain...now I will just use my Aquasana shower filter to fill up the bathtub.
I wish I had read the negative reviews before buying the product.
The handle is just a very small plastic strip. My handle broke after less than ten minutes of use. I tried using string, and plastic ties but nothing else worked. This is an obvious design defect and the manufacturer must already know about it. I contacted Amazon and they offered me a full refund. I told Amazon I would prefer that they simply ban this product from being sold on their site. Amazon told me that my only other recourse was to write a product review. I gave this product one star because Amazon does not allow you to give it a product zero stars.

Excellent Value!
This is an excellent performing whole house water filtration system at a lower price than most competitors.
I highly recommend using the mounting bracket as it will hold the unit for you while installing and removing the filter housing. I also recommend using the AP 817 filters as these offer the highest level of filtration for this unit. Change the filter every 3 to 6 months. On each filter change, coat the o-ring with some petroleum jelly (vaseline) and change the ring when needed. I've used this product since I bought my house 5 years ago and so far it's been great for us.
