The Seychelle Pure Water Pitcher is the most technologically improved product of its kind in the world. Providing up to 150 gallons of great-tasting filtered water before filter replacement, it makes water all day long whereas other pitchers can be used only twice a day in most circumstances. Streamlined and elegant looking, it fits easily into any refrigerator, and is ideal for R.V. use, camping, boating, and traveling. The pitcher uses the regular Seychelle filter which removes chlorine, chemicals and heavy metals. It does not remove giardia and cryptosporidium so it is designed as a drinking water product to be used with chlorinated municipal water, and as a replacement for bottled water. Key Features: Makes up to 150 gallons of water before changing filters. Flip top lid for easy filling. Makes water all day long. Easy to use, no slip pistol grip. Fits into any refrigerator. Plastic is non-leaching; BPA free! Filter pack easily changed every 6 months. Makes water all day long for multiple uses - drinking, cooking, plants, and pets. Reservoir holds one half gallon of water; filled twice - the pitcher comfortably holds one full gallon of water. Seychelle's exclusive filters are the most laboratory and field-tested of their kind in the world using EPA protocols and tested to NSF/ANSI Standards 42 and 53 by Broward Testing laboratory.

Environmentally sound
We've been trying to replace our "other potables" intake with water for years by buying gallons and gallons of bottle water--what a pain and expensive too. And the plastic bottle that expensive bottled water comes in have BPAs! Now one of our pets has liver and kidney problems (partly from age but probably from ingesting stuff in the food and water). We did some research (Brita says nothing about BPA-free plastic so we skipped them although their filters are available everywhere). There was some other reports that listed water filtering pitchers that we could not find anywhere. Seychelle was listed as one of the best, it's made right here in Calif. and we can get replacement filters right from the company (online yet). It's working great, filters enough water fast enough to be able to replace the pets' water bowl at least daily (more often if they drop stuff into it) and they seem to like the cleaner taste, hopefully they are drinking more water. Since we do go through water...

Worst purchase I have ever made
For the past several years I had used one of the old-school PUR water pitcher filters that makes water taste great, filters out nasty stuff, and lasts a LONG time (several months per filter). All for a mere $7 filter. Sadly, PUR vastly altered the composition of their filters, and the new ones now only last a few weeks at a time. I decided to give this Seychelle system a try, seeing as they (very very falsely) advertise that the filters last for up to six months. I was a bit apprehensive of the fact that the filter replacement cartridges cost $30 each, but I figured that if they really last for so long and give me good water, it's worth it.
Six days, folks. I bought a pack of 8 filters on Seychelle's webpage, and they've all given the same result (with the exception of the last one, which only lasted three days). With some water filters, even once you know it's gone bad, you can keep using them for a while still, a sort of grace period for you to order new filters -...
does not remove flouride as claimed
i bought this pitcher 2.5 years ago because i wanted flouride out of my water, and i live in a small apartment with little counterspace for a countertop filter and didn't want to install an undercounter system, considering i might move. I did a lot of research, and probably should have known that a pitcher removing 90% of flouride was too good to be true, as it is known to be a very stubborn and difficult thing to get out of water, and it is generally agreed that the only methods that will do it are either reverse osmosis (and i've actually seen some skepticism that RO does remove most of the flouride--in any case, they waste a ton of water and AA works beautifully) or activated alumina media. I certainly wanted it to be true. I often thought of buying a flouride testing meter, but kept naively trusting the 2006 (that's seven years ago people!) independent lab report posted on the seychelle website. The first filter i that came with my pitcher was faulty and i had to be shipped a...
